New Event Coming to The Permian

After an amazing event in Western Pennsylvania in 2025, the Blades of Steel City tradition has inspired a great event to help the communities in West Texas. West Texas Twig & Puck will be taking place February 13th, 2026. To get involved see our Information page, with registration and sponsorship opportunities! Looking forward to seeing everyone there.

Event Format

  • Four teams round robin style tournament.
  • Games consist of two 20-minute periods.
  • Top 2 teams will play a championship game of 2 periods, including one overtime period and a shootout as needed.
  • Along with 3 or 4 games on the ice, each player takes home an event jersey and potentially prizes.

The Inaugural Season (2024)

Blades of Steel City was founded in 2024 with a simple mission: to combine the camaraderie of the Oil & Gas industry with a passion for hockey to benefit local charities. Our first annual game set the standard for community involvement, raising significant funds for the LeMoyne Community Center.
